projects/skills-development-and-unemployment/Cans4Skills - Breadline Africa's Very Own Community Development Project
There is a buzz of excitement in our office in Cape Town which I haven't felt for a long time. This excitement is caused by our very latest community development project called Cans4Skills. It's a strange name so let me explain it to you. Cans is the name that many people in the container industry use for containers.
We renovate these containers every year and try to find practical uses for these solid structures in a way that may aid community development, projects that will help people to help themselves. Skills Development With Cans4Skills But now we want these cans to do a job for us that is very different from what they've done before. We want to use these cans for skills development in informal settlements - skills that communities can earn a living from. Skills like plumbing, painting, bricklaying, cooking and other domestic tasks, such as ironing, using a washing machine, microwave etc.
Our Skills Training Project Program Needs Your Help We are on the campaign trail to find people who want to support our Cans4Skills community development project so that we can make unemployment a thing of the past. Our belief is that, ?You might be poor and you might be uneducated, but Cans4Skills will equip you with the basic skills training so that you can get out there and earn your living, hold your head up with confidence and support your family.
Show your support for the Cans4Skills skills development programme and donate now. Get more information about this unique community development project if you contact us.
