Masincedane Community Service

Masincedane Community Service is a skills development project operating from the Strand and serving mostly women from townships in the Helderberg Region.

The project operates from an old converted fire station with the following training:

• Food preparation Hygiene and cleaning and basic skills 
• Community Home Based Care In addition the project operates an employment agency to assist those trained and other unemployed people in finding and applying for jobs. 

Masincedane Community Service also manages a large home based care (HBC) workers program or 60 HBC workers serving neighbouring communities in the Helderberg. Impact (Since 2000) Around 2200 work seekers were linked with employers. Around 2000 unemployed people were trained. 60 Home Based Care Workers care for the sick and dying in their communities
