The Marathon de Medoc is a standard marathon - 26 miles 385 yards long - but with a difference. There is a wine-tasting stop every mile, oysters at Mile 23, grilled strips of sirloin at Mile 24, bands at every chateau, compulsory fancy dress and a bottle of fine wine
